We have a lot of great guitar amps in the studio. Big ones, small ones, classic amps, newer models and some oddballs too. Each one does something really well — and that's important because there's a good amount of time getting great guitar sounds.
Lately we've been thinking about building a no-frills, "go-to" amp that has the bandwidth of the American classics with the roar of those great British amplifiers. So, with the help from our friend Jim from Analog Bros, we've started to assemble a circuit that we hope will become super useful both in the studio and for live performances.
There's lots of work to do, and we're just getting started. Here's a photo of J (in his fancy hat) drilling pilot holes into the chassis at Jim's shop.
Exciting stuff, with more to come.
